Cutting it close to the wire.

Kat Johnston - no time for description... posting now.

Argh, I’m doing it again. I swear, it is just because my body-clock is out of sync with the rest of the world. I’m still wide awake approaching midnight when I should, by all rights, be fast asleep in my nice cozy bed. Instead, I’m going ‘yeep, almost midnight! Time to hurry up and put in a post before the hour strikes!

I swear, its not as bad as it seems… well… this time it is. I didn’t even have something drawn by the time I realized there was only 10 minutes to go. My excuse? I’ve been doing other creative things alllll day, just not drawing. Ah well.. here’s today’s piccie, and I hope you like it! Can you tell it was a rush job?

Sunday’s Child

Kat Johnston - Sunday's child is full of grace...

But she is only for a few minutes longer. Tonight, like a couple of nights this week, I’ve just had to close my eyes in something nigh on sheer exhaustion. Thus, it is a late post tonight. In fact, I’m counting down the minutes to midnight. I’m glad that I woke in time to be able to see the post up instead of missing another day again this week – I already had the picture done, though not scanned in… just needed to get it up up up with a little bit of some writing to see it through as worth a day of reading.

Thus, today I give you Sunday’s Child… a gorgeous little lady with her own story to tell, and not one I have not the ability to tell in the six minutes remaining to me before the midnight hour tolls its late-night melody. For tonight I shall give you just her, instead… and tomorrow… I think I owe you one tale to be told, whispered in the sweet lilting tones of one whispering a half-song lullaby to a babe close to sleeping. Or perhaps just in a regular voice. That works too. But it doesn’t have quite the romanticism that the other has now, does it now?

Another day, another sketch.

Kat Johnston - a little lady with a very cute hair.

This isn’t a great sketch, but it is something! I’m going to share with you today something that happened on New Year’s Eve this year. I got the best text-message ever. Here it is word for word: “Hi Brian, just a quick message 2 wish you & joan a Happy easter & all the best for 1982 from all of us at the alzheimer’s society.”

It just has to be the most random, brilliant, wonderful text message ever, and one that goes down in my book as the funniest sms I have ever recieved. I was literally in tears of laughter over it with my husband, giggling away maniacally while formulating a suitable response. It went something along the lines of ‘I think you’ve forgotten the right number, because there’s no Brian here. Thanks for the best laugh all year.’

That’s my little story for the night. I’m off to watch another episode of Quantum Leap while laying back in my recliner and chomping on freeze-dried mango, joking with the husband. Now that, my friends, is the way to spend a good night in.

Eeeeeeeeep. Ah well.

Kat Johnston sketch - yes... another bloody bunny... don't blame me! I'm surrounded by them!

The past few days have been unfortunate indeed with regards to doing things for this website. Among other things, I’ve had my head buried deep in Second Life making an island for some friends… and then filling it with all types of fun stuff like octopuses holding knives and forks, elephants in inner-tubes and otters eating ice-cream. Well.. that and a lot of other fun things!

Thus, I have been slaving away. That combined with other things just kinda got in the way of me posting for a few days – but here I am, back and badder than ever… or… is that better than ever?

Anyhow, today’s picture is one of what my avatar in second life looks like right at this moment… though she won’t be staying that way for too long. On an entirely different note, I’m currently watching a clip from the old Alvin and the Chipmunks movie (not the new CGI thing)… the ‘Rock and Roll’ song. God I love it… I get so nostalgic over my old cartoons, and that particular movie was seriously cool. I loved Alvin and the Chipmunks and always had a slight crush on Simon… is it odd that I’m admitting I had a crush on a cartoon chipmunk?

Anyhow, I just watched the clip… and then there was a second clip on there that was the same as the first, but the whole scene rather than just the song part, at a much better quality… poor James. He just went ‘why am I being made to listen to this a second time?’ I think I might need to remind me that that’s just one of the many reasons he loves me!

Have a great night all!
