Sketch: A little something in progress.

So I’m doing up a portrait… but it isn’t actually going to be shaded, as this image implies. I was just playing around with my wacom and felt the urge to fill in some rough shading!

It’s going to be turned into a vector, if I have my way. Even though it is not yet finished, I thought I’d better pop something up onto the blog for now, since I’ve left it for so long without an update. I’ve gone way too long without putting a sketch up, don’t you think?

I’ll put up the finished product when I’m done!

Sanu in SL: The Miro skins for a touch of Spring.

My husband teases me about this. He really does. Every time I start on something like skins, or hair, or buildings, he’ll go, “Kat, you said that I should beat you if you ever start trying to make <insert item here>.” To which I resoundingly reply, “Shut up. Don’t tell me. I knowwwww!”

Skins are very much one of those things that I said I’d never do.

Luckily though, I often ignore what I’ve said earlier, and do it anyway. So here’s the new release!

There are four tones, to suit a range of avvies, starting with a nice pale shade.

There’s seven make-ups available in each tone – six can be picked up individually, but the seventh can only be obtained by purchasing the fatpack.

Each of the skins have four options to cover some of the basics – light brows for blonde and lighter hairs, dark brows for brunettes and darker, no cleavage for those that prefer a more natural look and cleavage for those who want a bit of lift. By having these options on the skin itself, you have the tattoo layer free for other things.

So yes. I’ve made skins again. Skins inspired by flowers and Spring-time and frolicking and fun. I’ve even released the shape in-store as well, so that you can get the exact look in the signs with the addition of some hair from Fri.day, eyes by Poetic Color, and outfit by Evie’s Closet.

Teleport to Sanu to try out a demo today!

Sketch: Just a quick sketch for today… I’m working on something cute.

I’ve been working on something incredibly cute for the past day, so I’m going to put up this for now, and save the extra cuteness for later!

Here… let me give you a hint. It involves a legendary mythical creature, cuteness, scissors and something I’ve already shown at least once on the site.

Buuuut for today… just a little red scribble-portrait. As I’ve mentioned before, I enjoy playing with different pens and things – a scribble portrait in a traditional ball-point pen is always going to have a different feel from something done in a bright red ink pen. I find it incredible just how much the medium can affect the outcome.

That’s all for today – there’s cute stuff on the horizon!

Sketch: I have a new scanner!

Note to self: Don’t spill water all over the scanner. The resultant scans can turn out questionable at best. Luckily for me, my darling husband was able to replace said scanner and I can now scan again. Yay scanner!

So, with fresh, delightful scanner, completely free of any liquid or residue, I bring you today’s quickie sketch. Ok, so she might be a little rushed, but I like her that way, lop-sided and all.

I’d announce some awesome news with today’s post too, but… well… I think I want a more refined picture to go with it. Therefore, I think I’ll hold off on that little tidbit for a little while longer. Don’t worry though: the wait is worth it. It is awesome news.

Sketch: She is Adored.

I had no idea what to call my sketch today, so it is now known as ‘She is Adored’. I’m not entirely sure why, but it seemed right nonetheless.

My button badge press arrived yesterday, and I am stoked! I have already made up a few (which were quickly snapped up by my sisters), and the machine worked perfectly. It is a good, sturdily constructed unit with replaceable dies, so later on down the track I can simply purchase the additional die sets to be able to make a wider range of sizes. Tis convenient, don’t you think?

I have a feeling I’m going to be digging through any images that might work well in a round format some time very soon.

This morning, however, I am doing a little more product browsing. I’m looking to get a colour inkjet that produces superior quality prints with maximum colour-fastness and longevity. In addition to the button press, I have some other fun items I’ve ordered which will require printed materials. As such, I’d like anything I make to really stand up really well to the test of time.

Phew… wish me luck.
