  • Sanu in SL: Cutie Peas and Acorn Monocles.

Sanu in Second Life: Give peas a chance, will you?

So the Magic of Oz sim is celebrating its second anniversary, and I’ve made a gift for you to celebrate too! It includes a huggable ‘Give Peas a Chance’ peapod and a cutie-peas peapod for your mouth. What can I say… I love peas.

You can find full details about the Over the Rainbow hunt, along with several other events being presented for the celebrations here at Ozimals.

There’s heaps of great vendors participating, so be sure to collect all the prizes!

Sanu in Second Life: Acorns and butterflies - what a cute combination!

Annnnnd this is the second release for today! A super-cute set of gatcha acorn monocles. You can get these at my main-store, but they’re also available at the Albero Gatcha Festival, along with a few of the classics that I think would go well with them.

Sanu in Second Life: Annnnd some interactive Candy-corn. Yummy and funny!

And in case you missed this other release… which I didn’t post about on the website… here’s the interactive candy-corn, now available at my main-store location. Each piece of candy-corn comes with an awesome set of twelve emotes which can be activated with a click. Here’s a little warning first though: the jokes are a little corny!

  • Sanu in SL and Photography: Tastes of Summer.

Kat Johnston Photography: A photograph of plump, juicy strawberries, with one dipped in home-made white chocolate ganache.

Let’s start with a nice little photo I took last night! I really need to get a better camera, better lighting and some reflectors if I plan on doing this all that often – but I still think they turned out pretty great. For a post-baking snack I had some plump, juicy strawberries dipped in some left-over white chocolate ganache which I had made up to top some very tasty cupcakes.

If you’d like a recipe for the ganache, I’ve posted one with this picture on flickr. Ganache is really rather simple to make, is very versatile and tends to impress, too! You can also find the rest of the strawberry pictures there in the set ‘sweet treats’!

Sanu in Second Life: A peapod lounge, bringing together the awesomeness that is peas and lounging!

And here’s the Sanu update for today. There’s actually three colours of the peapod lounges available – all nice, fresh shades of green. This lounge has been in the works for a little while, actually – they were built soon after the yummy peapods were made. I just had to wait a little while to get the perfect system for adding the animations.

Rather than having to rely on pose-balls, these lounges use low-lag scripts which have a menu, allowing anyone who sits on it to adjust their position perfectly using movements in all directions and rotation where needed. That means that it can fit almost any avatar every time! Certainly an improvement on needing to have the owner around to adjust it for you if needed, don’t you think?

  • Sanu in SL: Yummy peapods, summer flats, and some other cute things!

Sanu in Second Life: Tasty, delicious, yummy peapods! I absolutely love fresh peas, don’t you?

It’s a day for a Sanu update, because I’ve been neglect in anything on this blog for a couple of weeks due to my tonsillitis and flu. Urgh… being sick just sucks.

First up, as you can see above, are some yummy little peapods!

Sanu in Second Life: Nothing screams summer fun like some cute flats in pastel shades, don’t you think?

Next up… some fun summer flats. It is actually winter here in Australia, but in the states everything is sun and sand at the height of Summer! Therefore, I just had to do some summery releases.

Sanu in Second Life: Who can stop at just one pair of flats? Are you rediculous? Here’s some more, with flowers!

Annnnd I couldn’t just stop at one style.

Sanu in Second Life: Actually… I couldn’t even stop at two styles of these cute, summery shoes. They’re just so cute and fun!

I couldn’t even stop at two. I mean, who can say no to cute summer footwear? A girl can never have enough shoes in Second Life.

Sanu in Second Life: A second series of tiny butterflies… because you can never have too many butterflies at stunningly small proportions!

Moving on, I had to do up a second series of tiny butterflies. Fun colours, a variety of attachment points, and just as cute as can be, the second series are a great addition to the first. Each series comes with fifteen butterflies, so there are now thirty that can be collected!

Sanu in Second Life: And for the final Sanu update today: Tiny dragonflies. I felt I just had to extend my tiny insects range!

For the final Sanu product update for today: tiny dragonflies. I think I want to go through and do up a whole range of tiny insects. I know a lot of people think that they are gross, but at the very least, butterflies and dragonflies are a sure favourite with a variety of people. I’m thinking that ladybugs might be next, or even (although I realize they are not insects) snails. I’ll just have to see how I am inspired when the time comes!

That’s all for the Sanu update today – some of these items are not yet at the mainstore, but are at Summer Bazaar. They’ll all be appearing at the mainstore within a couple of days, however.

  • Sanu in SL: Give Peas a Chance.

Kat Johnston Second Life (Sanu): Give Peas a Chance. War – what is it good for? Absolutely nothing (say it again!)

One of the thing I think I love most about Second Life is the ability to have an absolutely random conversation with a friend, and then turn that conversation into the inspiration for a whole range of products. I always have a backlog of things I would love to make, but it is often these random conversations that kick all other ideas aside for a while!

People often ask me how I get the inspiration to make so many things… I have to say, random conversations often account for some of these items. It truly is amazing what you can come up with while just talking fun and trying to make each other laugh.

Anyhow, that is how I came up with this little item today. Radio, a friend of mine, sent out a gift to her group – a paper plane which sticks in your hair, with a cute little set of peas in the pod on the wing. I asked her why she was attacking me with paper planes, she replied, and with a little more back and forth, a full-out pea war had been declared. Needless to say, Sanu will undoubtedly be flooded with pea and peapod related items over the coming days… I’ve already planted this particular peapod behind enemy lines, bearing the words ‘Give Peas a Chance’, simply because I find it oh so difficult to avoid using corny puns when given the opportunity.

Anyhow… that is all for today. Perhaps not as impressive a post as the last one with the koi, but it took all morning to get those peapod and pea textures just perfect!
