  • Announcement: Like Kat on Facebook!

Kat Johnston: I've made it to Facebook!

I’ve finally done it. I’ve been procrastinating about it for ages, but I bit the bullet today and got it done. I’ve made a Facebook Fan Page for myself, for art updates!

Admittedly, it doesn’t have a large amount on it yet, but that will change, with a little time. First thing was first though – a nice cover image. The sketch is one I did the other day, and I added the colour today, to bring it to life. I think it worked out pretty nicely, don’t you?

So what are you waiting for? Check out Kat Johnston on Facebook!

  • EaHH: Bunny Auction an Incredible Success.

A charity bunny auction was held this evening at Shamrock Stables in collaboration with Ozimals.  To say it was a success would be a massive understatement.

100% of the proceeds were put towards EaHH’s collection to be donated to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal, and all bunnies to be auctioned were donated by some of the most talented breeders across the grid. Each of these incredible bunnies went for varying amounts – one even as high as L$62,000 (approximately US$237.12), and there were a couple that weren’t far behind.

The grand total bought in by the auction was L$388,302 (approximately US$1,485.01), and that doesn’t even including the raffles that are being run along-side it and have not yet closed.

Even if you weren’t able to join in on the bidding in the auction, there’s still time to get in on the bunny fun. The grand prize raffle will go for a full week before a winner is announced, and tickets are only L$100 each, with all of that money going to this great cause. You can get a full list of prizes in the grand prize pack if you go visit the raffle board, but be assured, it is an incredible pack including elites, food, a naughty and nice sets and more. Certainly worth your chances, in my books! Grab a ticket at Shamrock Stables!

I’d just like to say a big thank-you to Candy, Malk, Angelique, Ever, and everyone who bid, donated, or just showed up. You have no idea just how awed I was at your generosity. It just goes to prove, time and time again, that little things (and not so little things) can make a big difference, especially here in Second Life.

  • EaHH: Kicking off the event schedule with a bunny auction!

EaHH: Ozimals Bunny Auction - stop by on the 14th of Jan. Auction starts at 6pm, SLT.

14th of January, 6pm SLT at Shamrock Stables.

Extend a Helping Hand has been putting together a great event schedule, and we’re going to kick things off with a bang. Shamrock Stables is teaming up with Ozimals to present a bunny auction, with all proceeds collected going towards the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal. There will be an excellent range of fantastic bunnies up for auction, all donated by some incredibly generous bunny breeders. If you want a bunny that’s just a little bit (or a lot!) special, this auction is for you.

A raffle-board will also be set up during the auction, with some great prizes available, ranging from combo-food to Naughty and Nice packs no longer sold at Ozimals, Elite sets and more. Also available at the auction will be an incredibly gorgeous outfit available by Silk & Satyr, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the appeal! I’ve had a sneak peek at the gown and it is super cute – a lovely mix of luscious lavender and subtle shades of green and grey.

Make sure to stop by – this will be a bunny auction to remember!

  • Sketch: More Rabbit Ears.

Kat Johnston Sketch: More rabbit ears.

Just another picture of rabbit ears… They’re fun.

You know, some days, I feel like an utter fake. The pictures I put up here, they are just two second sketches, in most cases. Then I go browsing some of my favourite blogs (and a few new, as well), only to find people using their web spaces to display the most beautiful works, in progress and completed. Meanwhile, my little corner of the internet is chock full of things drawn on scraps of paper. Now don’t get me wrong, I like things drawn on scraps of paper, but I feel soooo inferior compared to some out there!

What is even more frustrating is this. After over 6 weeks of construction, of builders in and out of our house to fix things at the instructions of the owners, I still have a studio filled with boxes because parts of our house have had to remain free for the builders to come in and tear down walls and ceilings and paint and so forth. I am just so sick of it. I couldn’t even navigate my way into that room if I tried and it is driving me nuts. Throw into that the fact that we have been paying full rent while they come in and disturb our lives to this gigantic degree, and I’m at the end of my tether. For a job that was quoted ‘five days’, this is dragging on way too much… and the disturbance to our lives is above and beyond merely intrusive. Bah!

  • Sketch: Little Bunny Bumbleberry.

Kat Johnston Sketch: Little Bunny Bumbleberry is very cute indeed. He likes to run under the trees and collect up all the seed.

Ok, so I probably won’t get any awards for awesome post titles this week… but that is ok. I’m posting fairly early today because I’ve just had the owner and real-estate agent for my home come over and poke around all over. I understand that it needs to be done – there’s a decent amount of damage, caused either by the storm or their own on-going neglect to maintain the place, but that still doesn’t make me any more happy about it. There have been enough visits in the past few weeks that I am about ready to go ‘You know what? This is enough. Give us two weeks unbothered, ok?’

But enough of my grumbliness – lets push that aside, shall we? Today I’ve drawn a bunny! Bunnies have a wonderful way of making me smile, even when a morning has not gone incredibly perfectly. I felt that after having my home invaded, the only real way to get a pick-up may just be to draw one of the furry little things.

Mission accomplished. I am actually feeling a decent amount better after drawing a bunny. It is a pity that such things can not solve all of life’s ills, isn’t it? Have a flu – a bunny will fix it. Have a hole in the wall – drawing a bunny will fix that too. Want to plan an assassination attempt – I suggest you call the very friendly folks over at ‘Brutal Bunnies for Hire’. They’ll take care of every single one of your assassination needs.

Ah well… the world doesn’t work exactly like that, but it would be nice if it did.
